Nestled in Rawai, Phuket, Lord Shrimant
Ganpati Bappa Devalai is more than a place
of worship — it is a spiritual and cultural bridge
between India and Thailand.
Inspired by the 132-year-old Shreemant Dagadusheth
Halwai Ganapati temple in Pune, this temple carries
the legacy of faith, devotion, and community.
The original temple in Pune was built by Dagadusheth Halwai, a sweet seller and wrestler who, after losing
his sons to a plague epidemic, dedicated his faith
to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.
His famous confectionery shop, Dagdusheth Halwai
Sweets, still operates today, standing as a testament
to his enduring legacy.
It was at this temple that Lokmanya Tilak urged the public to join, leading to a ten-day celebration in 1893 which
now one of India’s most vibrant celebrations,
surpassing even Diwali in grandeur.
Today, this spiritual tradition continues in Phuket, where
the temple offers a sanctuary of blessings, cultural heritage, traditional, spiritual and divine peace.
The flowers under this service will be offered every morning. Flowers in this service will be offered to Lord Ganesha by the Trust from the honorarium of the devotees.
The following idols will be dressed: Large idol of Lord Ganesha, Small Silver idol of Lord Ganesha, and Silver idol of Goddess Siddhi and Buddhi.
